Full Job Description

Jefferson Beach Yacht Sales (JBYS) is seeking a skilled and experienced service technician to work out of our headquarters, St. Clair Shores, MI location. Candidate must have an electrical and mechanical background and work well independently.

JBYS services and repairs new and used Sunseeker, Viking, Princess and Absolute yachts, as well as many other makes and models. We mainly work on vessels in the 40’ to 80’ range. Full-time employees receive health, vison, dental and life insurance, along with paid holidays and paid vacation time.

Qualifications:

3 years of directly related experience in marine electrical and/or mechanical systems (certified techs are given top consideration)
Experience and ability to prep boat newly manufactured vessels for customer use utilizing prep sheets and checklists
Boat handling skills are ideal but not necessary
Knowledge of electrical AC and DC distribution, PLC controls, reading schematics, etc.
Ability to diagnose and install water systems, plumbing, pumps, tankage, hydraulics
Knowledge of marine engines, exhaust systems, running gear, steering gear
ABYC certification preferred, but not required
Overall troubleshooting and diagnostics of electronics
Must be comfortable working on the water, comfortable with heights and small spaces
Must have good driving record and valid driver’s license
Must have all the required tools to perform work

Responsibilities:

Prep new vessels for delivery utilizing prep sheets and checklists
Test vessels systems and run boat to ensure it is up to standards for delivery
Must be able to travel nationwide for approximately one week or less occasionally, depending on delivery schedule
Install, troubleshoot, and repair: all systems onboard as required and in accordance with ABYC standards and manufacturer specifications
Travel to marinas, different locations, and storage units as required to perform repairs
Stay up to date with manufacturer and industry training sessions
Work in a very clean and flawless manner so that boats are left in a better condition than when the work started
Report and coordinate with Service Manager to complete all tasks assigned

Wage: Top wage considered for the right candidate.
