Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and dental hygienists to provide exceptional patient care. Your role will involve assisting with various dental procedures, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and ensuring the comfort of our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments, suctioning, and providing other chairside support
- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring impressions and fabricating temporary crowns
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment following proper infection control protocols
- Restore prepped teeth, finish and polish dental restorations, make temporaries, utilize 3D scanner to process dental cases.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical documentation as needed
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or relevant work experience
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Proficiency in using dental software (Dentrix) for scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Ability to take accurate vital signs and record medical history information
- Experience with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software for creating digital impressions is a plus
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate care to patients of all ages
