Job Summary:
To assist Memory Care Program Director in implementing a social program created specifically for assisted living population. Activities include: an exercise program, intellectual stimulation, arts and sciences, travel, lectures, spiritual programs, outings and hosting speakers and musical events.
Essential Functions:
- Will work independently and along with Memory Care Director.
- Flexible work schedule to include weekends and some holidays.
- Oversee scheduled events including room set up and resident participation.
- Organize and participate in daily routine programming.
- Create a positive environment to engage resident participation
- Personal attitude must be outgoing, caring, considerate, and respectful to residents at all times.
- Adherence of non-Negotiables
- Perform additional assigned duties at the direction of the Memory Care Director.
Additional Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in the geriatric field.
Experience with dementia and Alzheimer’s in a paid or volunteer position highly preferred.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, community officials and the general public.
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly
- Must meet all State health requirements
- Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must pass criminal background check
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional aspects of this position.
- Must possess sight, hearing senses, or uses prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with the residents, personnel, and support agencies.
- Must be intuitive of group interest and possess the ability to transition between activities if interest in current activity is not present.
- Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
- Must be able to relate to the work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the community.
- Physically able to move at least 25 lbs. without assistance. May be required to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc.

- Physically able to bend, reach and work in small areas.
- Physical stamina and ability to assist residents as needed and in emergencies.
OSHA Exposure Control:
Category 2: Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, however, due to the nature of this work, the performance of Category 1 tasks may be necessary.
