We seek dedicated Board-certified/eligible primary care internists and family practitioners for our growing practice, primarily serving union members, retirees, and their families. The ability to communicate verbally in Spanish is a plus.

SUMMARY
Provides general medical care and treatment to patients in medical facilities. Diagnoses and treats a variety of diseases and injuries in general practice by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Delivers professional services within the Center.
2. Elicits and records information regarding patient's medical history electronically.
3. Examines patient to determine general physical condition.
4. Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition.
5. Analyzes reports and findings of tests and of examination, and diagnoses condition.
6. Administers or prescribes treatments and drugs.
7. Performs telemedicine including phone calls and video calls to patients and records findings electronically.
8. Completes charting in a timely manner.
9. Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases.
10. Advises patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease.
11. Provides lab and diagnostic test results to patients in a timely manner
12. Reports outbreak of contagious diseases to governmental authorities.
13. Refers patients to medical specialist or other practitioner for specialized treatment.
14. Performs minor procedures.
15. Contributes to the development of policies and standards of patient care by participating in committees.
16. Complies with the Union Health Center’s policies & procedures related to privacy and security of identifiable patient information (PHI), as explained in the HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act) training.
17. Supports the stated goals and objectives of the Patient Centered Medical Home by working cooperatively with all clinical and non-clinical staff to develop procedures that enhance the Health Center’s team-based approach to patient care.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 1. Board Certified
2. 2 to 5 years experience post board certification preferred
3. Meet the criteria for active medical staff membership
4. Strong interpersonal, oral, written communication and collaborative skills.
5. Computer literate.
6. Language proficiency in Spanish preferred.
