Behavioral Health Technicians are those staff responsible for the active supervision of the youth residing on our campus for treatment. Staff should embody a positive and compassionate attitude, demonstrate effective communication skills, and have a desire to work with youth who exhibit behavioral and/or emotional issues.

- Implement the decisions of your immediate supervisor or managers within your chain of command.
- Provide a positive role model for the clients at all times through appearance, attitude, and behavior.
- Attend all in-services, General Staff Meetings, and meetings called by their supervisor.
- Work harmoniously and effectively with co-workers.
- Accomplish objectives and consistently produce satisfactory work.
- Is faithful in reporting to work, staying on the job, and helping to meet institutional emergencies.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Comply with department guidelines, the Organization and Personnel Guidelines, and all expectations set by Gibault’s administration.
- Provide programming for clients in your area of responsibility.
- Transporting the clients to various locations for appointments, meetings, outings, etc.
- Provide leadership, direction, encouragement, and coaching to the clients throughout campus and in particular to those in their assigned living unit.
- Develop a proactive approach to supervision designed to minimize client behavioral problems and prevent crisis situations.
- Enforce organizational and group living policies, procedures, and rules through the use of various treatment tools in accordance with the client disciplinary action policy.
- Plan and facilitate recreation, leisure activities, and special events within their assigned living unit.
- Communicate treatment and pertinent administrative issues to Clinical Services Therapists, Supervisors, and Administration.
- Supervise the daily cleaning and organization of the assigned living unit to maintain compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
- Serve as a member of the Unit Treatment Team within the assigned living unit.
- Successful completion of Cornell University’s Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Completed High School diploma or GED certificate.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Submit to and pass all required background checks.

Pay: $12.00 - $17.00 per hour
