Job Title: Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)
Reports to: Lead Veterinary Technician, Hospital Administrator / Manager and Owner
Overall Responsibility: The LVT will assist our veterinarians in providing care to animals. In addition, LVTs support fellow team members from other departments to ensure smooth daily operation of the hospital by performing duties as directed by their supervisors. Due to the nature of the hospital, LVTs may be asked to work any day of the week, month, or year.
Job Requirement: A graduate from an accredited veterinary technology program and currently licensed in the state of Nevada.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Provide outstanding customer service
- Be on time and stay late when needed
- Look and act professional as a representative of CRAH
- Work without supervision
- Work as part of a team
- Work well under pressure such as medical emergencies.
- Always be willing to help other team member and other departments
- Perform Blood Draws on dogs and cats
- Place I.V. catheters.
- Intubating patients
- Induce anesthesia in patients.
- Restrain difficult patients effectively.
- Train and mentor other staff members who have less qualifications / experience
- Able to lift pets up to 50lbs 10 times every day
- Able to bend, lift, kneel and for extended periods of time
- Work with fecal matter, urine, blood, and cleaning chemicals
- Use and help maintain hospital diagnostic equipment
- Verify accuracy of dispensed medication
- Facilitate, encourage and support communication between staff and departments to ensure the smooth operation of the hospital
- Lead by example and support / promote team goals
- Ensure shifts/staff covered when absences occur
- Complete discharge and medical record paperwork appropriately.
- Be able to communicate effectively with clients in person and over the telephone.
- Ensure the safety of clients, pets and their colleagues
- Obey and understand all clinic policies and procedures and understand responsibilities under OSHA and other regulatory agencies

- Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred)
