We are currently seeking dedicated and skilled Registered Nurses to join our Night, Evening, & Weekend On Call Team serving after hours in an on-call capacity. As a Nurse in our hospice program, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the comfort, dignity, and well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to answering service calls and conduct home visits to assess patients’ needs and deliver compassionate nursing care.
- Continuously assess and re-evaluate patient needs, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal comfort and quality of life.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on disease progression, symptom management, and end-of-life care options.
- Provide specialized nursing services in accordance with agency guidelines, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments and interventions using Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing valuable insights to the overall care plan.
- Stay abreast of best practices and developments in hospice care through continuous professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred, with a background in hospice, palliative care, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of hospice regulations, practices, and standards of care, coupled with excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Compassionate, empathetic nature, and a genuine desire to provide comfort and support during challenging times.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare software.
Requirements:
- Valid nursing license (RN or LPN) in the state of Michigan
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a nurse, preferably in hospice or palliative care
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide compassionate care to patients and families during challenging times
- Proficiency in medical documentation and electronic health records systems
Job Types: Part-time, Per diem, PRN
Pay: $8 per hour plus per visit rates ranging from $65-150 if in person visit is made
Expected hours: 25-40 per week
