Position Summary
SSA Group is seeking a visionary and strategic leader to join our team as the Vice President of Catering. This role is pivotal in driving the success of our catering operations across the company, enhancing service delivery, and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in hospitality management, with a deep understanding of event planning, customer service, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management: Direct a high-performing team of catering professionals, which includes managing a district team of four catering operators and two catering sales staff, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and superior service. Mentor and develop the team to create an environment that inspires innovation and growth.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee all aspects of catering operations, ensuring seamless execution of events that meet high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Implement systems and processes that enhance operational efficiency and service excellence.
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with SSA team members to execute companywide events, including AZA meetings, corporate functions, partner galas, and current or future partner events. Coordinate logistics and resources to ensure flawless event execution and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Business Development: Partner with Business Development team to identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand catering services. Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop strategies that enhance brand visibility and market reach.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage the catering budget, ensuring profitability and financial sustainability. Analyze financial data to make informed decisions that support business growth and operational goals.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded. Act as the primary point of contact for major clients and negotiate contracts to secure profitable deals.
- Compliance and Quality Control: Ensure all catering operations comply with health and safety regulations. Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards in food preparation and delivery.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in catering or event management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team in a high-volume environment.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing a budget.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proven track record of improving service delivery and operational efficiency.
