1. Greets patients and answers telephone in a courteous and professional manner, addresses questions and direct calls.
2. Ensures patient confidentiality and provides patients with needed information.
3. Schedules appointments, utilize the EMR practice management system and maintains smooth patient flow throughout clinic.
4. Examines patient medical records for completeness ensuring all required information is obtained at time of visit; notes any deficiencies and refers to supervisor for follow-up; sorts, files and maintains a variety of medical records such as, labs and pathology reports, progress notes, and patient referrals utilizing EMR via scanning and attaching methods.
5. Gather third party payment information, records charges, and bills patients for services provided as indicated on the encounter forms.
6. Establishes that each patient is advised of the sliding fee scale and makes adjustments accordingly.
7. Assists in entering new patient data and upgrading patient information in the computer.
8. Collects and maintains patient registration and utilization data.
9. Route phone messages through phone call and flag system utilizing EMR.
