As the Cross Dock Lead Associate, you will be responsible for overseeing all cross-dock operations and maintaining a safe work environment. This will include the oversight of the sortation of Inbound Cat Parts Stock trucks from the Atlanta Depot, Yancey Branch parts transfer trucks, equipment attachments and rebuild components from other branches.
- Maintain a safe working environment on the cross dock ensuring all drivers and workers are utilizing proper PPE, i.e., safety vests, safety glasses, etc. and operating forklifts in a safe manner.
- Sort inbound parts from the Cat Depot by branch to ensure they are packed securely and loaded onto the correct delivery route.
- Label all parts transfer boxes with the correct store identification label.
- Ensure drivers are scanning all Inbound or Branch Transfer into the transfer boxes and the transfer box is scanned onto the correct delivery truck.
- Maintain clean work areas in the warehouse and on the dock, making sure it is left ready for the morning team.
- Employ contamination control measures in the event of a spill.
- Report all incidents of damage to freight, equipment, or workspace, to supervisor.
- Be available to work overtime on short notice and provide afterhours support when required.
- Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner.
- Additional duties as assigned by manager.
To be successful in this position you should be organized, show an attention for detail and a sense of urgency. You should have basic computer skills, be safety conscious, and have the willingness to learn. The ability to multitask, problem solve, and be self-driven are essential to this position as well.
- High school or equivalent
- Able to obtain forklift certification.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. repetitively and occasionally higher amounts with assistive devices.
- Willingness to work in hot/cold weather conditions.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills (email, internet, basic data entry).
- Problem solving and multi-tasking.
- Safety conscious and customer focused.
- Be self-driven and take pride in your work.
- Prior experience in a warehouse environment
- Spanish speaking/writing/ready a plus.
