Essential duties and functions:
- Perform hydraulic bolt tensioning equipment service, including but not limited to in-house repairs, calibrations, and field service work.
- Communicate with manufacturers the details of repairs and necessary replacement parts.
- Prepare repair quotes.
- Communicate with customers the requirements and status of the service jobs.
- Inventory control, including but not limited to monitoring inventory levels and initiating orders with vendors.
- Shipping & receiving activities.
- Maintain technical literature files.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Specific duties and functions:
- Inspect customers’ equipment for required maintenance/repair and prepare service estimates.
- Communicate with manufacturers to troubleshoot product related problems.
- Process customers' RFQs for replacement parts or new tools.
- Process customers' orders in the database, place purchase orders with vendors.
- Repair hydraulic bolt tensioners, hydraulic and pneumatic pumps, and other hydraulic or electric tools, including but not limited to using hand, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools.
- Perform test related functions for tools and document repair and test results.
- Schedule domestic shipments, pack, and dispatch orders to carriers; receive deliveries.
- Maintain repair shop and inventory in an organized manner.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- A self-starter, well organized, and able to work well with a team but demonstrate working independently without supervision.
- Ability to diffuse customer complaints.
- Experienced tools service technician (hydraulic pumps, nuts, tensioners).
- Ability to lift, lower and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
- English literate, experienced user of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook), experience with Intuit QuickBooks is a plus, experienced user of basic office equipment such as phone systems, copiers, and computers.
Education, experience, and requirements:
- High school diploma or its equivalent (GED).
- 1-3 years industry work experience preferred. Employer provides necessary training depending on the candidate's experience and background.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Experience with operating forklift.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
- Occasional travel as part of responsibilities (approx. 3-10% of working time, depending on customer or company demand, not consistent week to week).
