Overview:
mesburyTruth is seeking a Senior Scheduler to join our Production Team. In this role, you will oversee the preparation of production schedules and ensure a smooth transition of scheduling/planning between production shifts.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the conversion of daily work orders into a valid production schedule.
- Coordinate production activities with all assembly and support personnel.
- Investigate and resolve issues related to the scheduling function in a timely manner.
- Participate actively in daily scheduling meetings, providing input on any concerns or problems.
- Communicate effectively with teammates and management, fostering a positive, team-based attitude.
- Ensure the release of the correct balance and mix of orders to the production floor, considering both existing capacity limits and customer due dates.
- Maintain a safe work environment and keep specific work area clean and organized.
- Monitor daily schedules by spending time in production areas, following up on actual results versus planned results.
- Level load both individual production cells and the overall plant, communicating and resolving any planning capacity issues.
- Work closely with the Buyer/Planners and Master Scheduler achieve desired stocking levels.
- Distribute information to the production floor and materials in a timely manner.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Comprehensive understanding of standard purchasing, production scheduling, and capacity planning programs and processes.
- Proficiency in ERP systems.
- Exceptional project management skills.
- Attention to detail. Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and concurrent tasks.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Excellent computer and data entry/analysis skills (proficient in MS Office applications).
- Ability to produce reports from computer data, analyze reports, and keep management informed of problems in a timely manner.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in performing job duties.
Qualifications / Prior Experience
- 5+ years of related experience in production planning and scheduling.
- High school degree required. Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, especially SAP.
Work Environment / Other Requirements
- The work performed is conducted in a climate-controlled facility with moderate noise levels that are within OSHA Limits
