SEXUAL HEALTH EDUCATOR

NCPPC is seeking qualified candidates for two full-time Sexual Health Educator positions based in our Watertown and Gouverneur offices. Educators will provide school-based and some community-based comprehensive sexual education programming using evidence-based curricula; maintain open and consistent communication with school district staff; facilitate community relations including public/parenting education, outreach and marketing initiatives to raise community awareness of adolescent issues including sexual health and well-being; and work with special populations including military dependents and LGBTQ youth.
Programming topics include reproductive anatomy, HIV and STI transmission and prevention, pregnancy and contraception, healthy relationships, communication, puberty, abstinence, and other related subjects.
Ideally, candidates will have knowledge of sexual health, adolescent development, community systems and available services. Candidates must possess the skill set required to work positively with youth and young adults both as individuals and in groups at Middle and High School levels; and, demonstrate strong written, personal and electronic communication and public speaking skills. To be considered, candidates must possess BA/BS in a related field (ex., public health, education, human services), experience in health education, particularly sexual health education, and/or youth work is preferred. Personal vehicle and valid driver’s license. NCPPC offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurances and a 401K with match. Compensation begins at $36,400 to $38,400 per year based on experience.
