Job Summary:
A Driver is responsible for transporting clients from designated pick-up locations to the KANDU facility, utilizing a KANDU vehicle. Their duties include assisting clients with the KANDU bus they are provided for the transport, using a navigation system to map their route, and transporting clients from designated pick up locations to the proper drop-off location in a timely manner.
Job Responsibilities:
- Transport clients to and from destinations
- Arrive at destinations on schedule
- Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather delays
- Use navigation applications to determine the best route
- Always interact with clients professionally and friendly
- Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use
- Inspect vehicle for safety and maintenance daily
- Communicate when vehicle repairs are needed
- Keep mileage records and repair records up-to-date
- Qualifications:
- Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Must be able to assist clients on and off the bus.
- Must be able to operate a wheelchair lift.
- Be dependable and reliable.
- Be able to work in a team and individually with little supervision.
- Must be able to pass a caregiver background check.
- Must be ablet to pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical.
- Be able to read maps, directions, layouts, drawings, and verbal and written directions.
- Previous transportation experience is preferred.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge:
- Effective communication.
- Proficient knowledge of Wisconsin’s rules of the road.
- High school or equivalent.
- Strong ability to solve problems and implement solutions.
- Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment.
