Thalia Hall is looking for friendly and experienced folks to join our in-house Security Team.

Whether checking credentials or IDs, securing the stage, or escorting an artist team backstage, a successful Security team member is one that has the safety of our guests as their #1 concern.
Thalia Hall hosts an incredibly wide array of events and performances - the duties of this position are not comprehensive, this person will be asked to enthusiastically jump in where needed to make it happen.
ABOUT THE ROLE

Assist in employee and guest ingress, greet and direct crowds, check IDs, enforce credential checks for backstage and artist areas, supervise barricades and photo pit

Roam in venue and/or venue perimeter to ensure all access points are secure

Guide guests within the venue (restrooms, merch, VIP areas, ADA areas, etc)

Assist guests that need medical assistance by calling for Medical services on radio

Monitor guest behavior to ensure safe crowd management and address any inappropriate or unacceptable behavior in a timely manner

Work with House team to write reports of major incidents witnessed during event to assist management in thorough record keeping

Resolve guest issues with excellent customer service, and identifying when it’s best to escalate to management for extra assistance

Enforce house code of conduct, be a strong advocate for inclusivity, respect and a welcoming environment

Learn, communicate, and practice existing house emergency and evacuation procedures

Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by management

This role will have regular hours scheduled beginning May 1, 2024
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
-
Must have the ability/stamina to work up to 30 hours a week.

Ability to stand/walk for up to 5-6 hours per day.

Must be able to speak and hear via walkie-talkie using an in-ear earpiece

Will frequently climb stairs, reach, feel, bend, stoop and carry
-
Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors.

Must be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from music. Earplugs are your friend!

21 years of age or older
-
Previous music venue/events experience in Security preferred

Current PERC license preferred but not required

Skill in interpersonal communication and teamwork

Up for being adaptable - Checking a bag or ID, standing in a barricade, escorting an artist, or dealing with a difficult guest - happy to be flexible and proactively jump in where you’re needed most.

Friendly, approachable demeanor - this is important!

Flexible schedule and an ability to work late hours

Ability to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety minded manner

Skilled in de-escalating difficult situations

Ability to stand for long periods and work in a loud indoor or outdoor environment
