We are seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Assistant for a busy multi-specialty, Ophthalmology/Optometry practice with 2 locations. Experience in Ophthalmology/Optometry or medical assisting preferred but would be willing to train the right candidate. This is a rewarding opportunity for those seeking a new challenge, the ability to grow professionally and become a certified ophthalmic assistant/technician.
This position requires a desire to help others, excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well with others in a fast paced environment. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and a quick learner with a strong work ethic.
Job Description:
Our Ophthalmic Assistants are an important part of our clinic by helping our patients and doctors. Duties include, but not limited to: Obtaining the patient’s history, testing visual acuity, performing various diagnostic tests under the direction of the physician and entering all information in our electronic health record system.
Minimal Requirements:
· Must be available: Monday-Friday 7:45am-6:00pm to work 8 hour shift with possible overtime opportunities.
· Travel to each location is required.
· High school diploma or Equivalent.
· Type 40 wpm
· Possess a valid California driver license and current vehicle insurance. We reimburse applicable mileage and drive time for travel between offices.
· We require pre-employment background screening upon conditional offer of employment.
· Exceptional organizational skills and excellent computer skills.
· Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and a positive attitude.
· Must possess a great deal of initiative and flexibility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Bilingual a plus
