Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing quality oral healthcare to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings, provide preventive care, and educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices. Responsibilities: - Perform dental cleanings and remove plaque and tartar from teeth - Conduct thorough oral examinations and assess the overall oral health of patients - Take and develop dental x-rays as needed - Administer local anesthesia and apply fluoride treatments - Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care - Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and ensuring patient comfort - Maintain accurate medical documentation and update patient records - Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment - Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive patient care Requirements: - Valid state dental hygiene license - Proficiency in medical documentation and electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic - Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and oral health conditions - Familiarity with infection control protocols, including sterilization techniques and personal protective equipment (PPE) - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Ability to work well with patients of all ages, including children (pediatrics) - Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment - Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality - Experience working in a dental office setting is preferred At our dental practice, we offer competitive pay, comprehensive benefits packages, and opportunities for professional growth.
