Job Overview:
Small optometry practice within a busy privately owned optical shop looking for personable optometrist. Relaxed schedule with a good mix of routine and medical exams. 1-4 days/wk to start, with option to take over the doctor side and possibility to purchase optical in the future. Great location with tremendous growth potential. Patient age range 5-105 with majority over age 35. Equipment available for medical exams include Optoview iScan OCT, Eidon AF UWF confocal retina scanner, Firefly anterior seg camera/video equipped slit lamp, Olleyes VR VF device, etc. Revolution EHR
You've passed the boards and are ready to see patients. Friendly, outgoing, empathetic optometrist who enjoys the camaraderie of a close-knit team whose members work together to give great patient care. Ready to work independently. Taking the time needed to get to know your patients and develop relationships results in patient trust and loyalty. Familiarity with how to use above mentioned diagnostic equipment helpful, but not necessary.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry program
- Valid state license to practice optometry in CT
- Knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures ideal
- Familiarity with ophthalmology equipment and diagnostic tools (OCT, VF, cameras etc).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical concepts to patients of all ages
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Duties:
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations
- Diagnose and treat eye diseases and conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices, including hygiene, nutrition, and lifestyle choices
- Communicate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health record system (Revolution EHR)
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in optometry through continuing education and professional development
Benefits listed will depend on how many patient care hours you work and are negotiable. Also will depend on joining as an employee or per diem

Pay: $60.00 - $75.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 36 per week
