The Buttery ATL is a pastry production kitchen that makes everything in the world of patisserie and viennoiserie from scratch every day. Pies, Cakes, Laminated doughs, Muffins and cookies to Croquembouche to glaces and doughnuts. If you wish to learn the Pastry Arts, then this is the kitchen to be in. The Pastry Sous Chef assists the Pastry Chef & the Chef de Cuisine in overseeing food production and service for the Buttery pastry program as well as with the supervision of the kitchen and the total culinary team, all while representing Hopkins and Company and their respective business in a professional manner at all times, on and off premises.
The Pastry Sous Chef will maintain consistency and deliciousness of all pastry items. S/he will train kitchen personnel and supervise culinary activities; ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance; and ensure proper safety and sanitation in the kitchen. This position will also assume managerial duties when the Pastry Chef is not present. They must be a true hospitalitarian supporting excellence in every facet of the customer experience. Specific duties and expectations include:
