Overview:
Academy at the Farm's Speech Language Pathologist’s main responsibility is providing speech and language therapy to small therapy groups throughout the day. Planning time is provided daily for documenting individual goals, maintaining files and coordinating meetings. In addition, the Speech Language Pathologist is a part of the ESE Team to help identify, screen and then possibly evaluate students and their communication skills including but not limited to articulations, fluency, voice, expressive and receptive language for the purpose of identifying disorders and determining school program eligibility.
The Speech Language Pathologist needs to have an current Florida certification in field, or hold the appropriate state license for the position including a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD), or related field and be enrolled in a Master’s degree program at an accredited institution in the field of Speech-Language Pathology, or related field. Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- State licensure or eligibility for state licensure
- Experience in acute care or hospital settings is preferred
- Proficiency in patient assessment and care
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology
- Ability to work effectively in critical care environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
