Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Instructional Coordinator will be responsible for actively mentoring and coaching AYA faculty in contemporary best practices in teaching and learning. The Instructional Coordinator will collaborate closely with Department Leads in the process of observing and evaluating the effectiveness of instruction at AYA. Ultimately, the goal is to promote greater integration of contemporary pedagogy, active learning, and appropriate assessment into the school’s instructional program to enhance student learning and achievement.
Job Type: Full-Time, Salary, Exempt, 12 months.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in English, Math, Educational Administration, Curriculum Development, or related field (Doctorate Preferred)
- Minimum of three years as an administrator with curriculum experience and three or more years of Teaching Experience
- Florida Administration/Principal Certification (Preferred)
- This position requires an understanding or and experience with contemporary educational principles and knowledge of current educational research and best practices, and a deep understanding of how children learn.

Examples of Essential Functions:

- Help develop the pedagogical skills of the faculty using observations, workshops, group coaching and individual mentoring.
- Create a consistent feedback system to support individual faculty growth.
- Work with faculty to focus on improved outcomes, supporting the school’s strategic goals.
- Coordinate MAP testing and the evaluation of the results on a continuous basis.
- Advise and support faculty in the creation of appropriate assessments that reflect best practices.
- Help faculty ensure alignment with standards and the International Baccalaureate Program philosophy.
- Along with Department Leads, take a major role in the development and implementation of faculty performance evaluations.
- In collaboration with Department Leads, lead in the development of a strong Professional Learning program and culture that focuses on best practices and improved outcome
Environmental Demands:
This position works in various settings, including classrooms and outdoors, and may experience heat or cold extremes and fumes, odors, dust, and the noise level is moderate to loud.
