- Responsibilities of the CT/PET Technologist
- Performs quality control test(s) required prior to exams
- Thorough knowledge of cross sectional anatomy function for contrast explaining examination and safety procedures, obtaining all appropriate signed consents and preparing patient for the procedure.
- Answers any questions and assists with procedure.
- Performs post exam duties which include explaining and documenting any instructions needed for follow up of exam.
- Administers contrast agent for designated examinations under the supervision of the radiologist.
- Administers radioisotope under the supervision of the radiologists
- Uses the appropriate personal protective equipment related to the exam.
- Requirements of the CT/PET Technologist
- Must be ARRT/CTIRT certified.
- Must be a certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist, through ARRT or NMTCB.
- Must maintain current state licensure through Texas Department of Health.
- Must maintain active CPR status
