Overview
As the Development Coordinator, you will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth functioning of administrative operations within the organization. Your responsibilities will encompass various tasks related to data entry, gift processing, database management, meeting coordination, documentation, and project support.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Enter data, process gifts, generate IRS-friendly receipts, draft acknowledgments, generate monthly reports, gividend reports and other donor documentation in timely, accurate manner
- Update and maintain database records ensuring record integrity, fidelity, confidentiality, notes/all pertinent info is accurately captured and protocols are followed
- Assist in maintaining project plans and in scheduling meeting and building/sharing agendas as required
- Maintain accurate electronic files and records necessary for the compliant and orderly management of the AO function
- Make arrangements for meetings and other AO activities, including preparation of materials, mailings, technical support, and so forth.
- Coordinate grant and communications materials produced by the department and/or its contractors to ensure that projects meet deadlines and specifications, including, but not limited to: liaising with staff as directed, tracking edits, securing release forms and obtaining vendor quotes
- Conduct thorough research requested using online tools
- Draft requested reports, correspondence, research briefs, project plans and take minutes/notes
- Assist in the production of flyers, decks, powerpoints and other print and electronic materials, including design and proofreading
- Assist in taking photographs and video footage of City Teaching activities
- Prepare presentation materials
- Carry out other duties as assigned
Organizational Stewardship
In addition to the key responsibilities noted above, you will be asked to participate in activities that serve to support the organization overall. Some examples of these activities include:
- Final interview days
- Working groups and committees
- Recruitment initiatives
- All-staff retreat planning and facilitation
Target Start Date: May 2024
Location: Remote with a strong preference for Baltimore, Dallas, DC, or Philadelphia
Time Commitment & Compensation: $55,486 & is subject to a geographic differential which could increase or decrease it by 4% or 8% depending on city of residence. We are an anti-racist organization that prioritizes equity so we do not negotiate salaries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar working environment; non-profit experience preferred.
- Expert computer knowledge/CRM skills, particularly with Raiser’s Edge NXT, Instrumentl, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Asana.
- Experience in Salesforce, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud a plus.
- Excellent organization, research, interpersonal and communications skills.
- A motivated self-starter able to work effectively with minimal supervision and as a member of a team.
- A proactive, detail-oriented, analytical problem-solver able to work on multiple projects and priorities at any one time.
- Ability to work effectively with people of all backgrounds.
