C Three Foundation (cthreefoundation.org) is the nation’s only public charity with a focus on assisting people using the Sinclair Method to reduce or eliminate harmful alcohol use. We do this through education, awareness building, addiction resources and peer support. We are dedicated to making a positive impact on our community by providing essential services and support to those in need. We rely heavily on fundraising to sustain our programs and services, and we are seeking a Development Associate to bolster our fundraising efforts locally in the Kansas City Metro region as well as globally.
Position Overview: The Development Associate will be responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising program that includes major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, planned giving, and special events. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director to develop fundraising goals and strategies, and will manage a team of fundraising professionals. The ideal candidate will have a desire to grow in the position from an independent contractor to a full time salaried employee as funding permits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet the organization’s annual revenue goals.
- Identify and cultivate major gift prospects, as well as corporate and foundation donors.
- Assist in the planning and execution of special events that engage donors and raise funds for the organization.
- Work closely with the Executive Director to develop fundraising strategies and goals.
- Ability to attend occasional meetings with the Executive Director in the Kansas City area.
- Monitor and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed.
- Weekly collaborative meeting with the Executive Director.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field
- Experience with local and Federal nonprofit regulatory compliance
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of success in major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and special events
- Knowledge of the Kansas City Metro area fundraising landscape
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write compelling donor communications and marketing materials
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, Board members, and volunteers
- Experience with Give Lively and Salesforce
- A deep commitment to the mission and values of our organization
- Ability to uphold reasonably prompt and professional standards for internal communications
- Self-motivated, curious extrovert who enjoys asking questions and talking with new people
Independent Contractor Agreement Provisions
- Initial independent contractor agreement will be for six (6) months,
- Initial agreement will be dependent on mutual agreement of continuance based on performance and fit, based on regular check-ins
- Check-ins will be either in person or virtual meetings
- Check-ins will occur at approximately 30, 60, and 120 days, as well as two weeks prior to the expiration of the initial contract.
- After successful expiration of the initial agreement, contract renewals will be for the term of a full year with quarterly check-ins.
