Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Orthodontist to join our team. As an Orthodontist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating dental and facial irregularities to improve patients' oral health and appearance. You will work closely with patients to develop personalized treatment plans and provide ongoing orthodontic care.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive orthodontic evaluations and assessments
- Diagnose dental and facial irregularities, such as misalignments, overcrowding, and malocclusions
- Develop customized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
- Install and adjust orthodontic appliances, such as braces, retainers, and aligners
- Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices during orthodontic treatment
- Collaborate with other dental professionals, such as dentists and oral surgeons, to coordinate patient care
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in orthodontic techniques and technologies
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and oral health principles
- Proficiency in medical coding for insurance billing purposes
- Experience working with electronic medical record systems (Epic)
- Thorough understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic technique
- Excellent medical documentation skills for accurate patient records
- Ability to assess patient needs through thorough examination and analysis
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to orthodontics
- Proficiency in managing and maintaining patient records using Dentrix software
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school
- Completion of an accredited orthodontic residency program
- Valid state dental license to practice as an Orthodontist
- Board certification or eligibility for board certification in Orthodontics
