Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Packaging Supervisor to join our team. As a Packaging Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the Manufacturing/Packaging Operations and must adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and efficiency of the operation. Supervisor will ensure that packaging targets are met. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise packaging line operations, including equipment setup, operation, and maintenance.
- Coordinate with production and quality control teams to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to production schedules.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate packaging team members to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor inventory levels of packaging materials and coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate supply.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for packaging processes.
- Conduct regular inspections of packaging equipment and facilities to identify and address any maintenance or safety issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, GMP regulations, and other relevant industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Ensure that packaging operations meet or exceed production target while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance department to investigate and resolve any packaging discrepancies or quality issues.
- Conduct regular meetings with packaging team members to communicate goals , performance expectations, and updates on company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with Production Manager daily for production goals for packaging lines. Monitor and prepare daily group productivity indicators.
- Maintains accurate and complete records.
- Maintains a constant product flow in all stations of the line.
- Monitors each operation to assure compliance with document instructions, SOP's, GMP's, OSHA, FDA and company policies.
- Checks incoming and outgoing materials to ensure that they comply with GMP's, department schedules and special instructions.
- Perform special duties and functions as required by the department manager.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends or evenings to accommodate production schedules or special projects.
- Monitor and analyze packaging line efficiency metrics, such as downtime, change overs, waste and implement strategies to improve performance
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Processing BPR’s
- Assist with daily/weekly scheduling
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in a packaging supervisory role, preferably in the nutraceutical or pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of packaging equipment and processes.
- Familiarity with GMP regulations and quality control standards.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Must be able to read/write English.
- Must be available for overtime as needed.
- Ability to stand/walk for entire shift and lift to 50lbs.
- Ability to work autonomously and make independent decisions.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks and multi-task.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, warehouse management systems
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours.
- Must be able to work in a physically challenging environment.
- Bilingual – Spanish preferred.

Compliance with New York State Human Rights Pay Transparency Law, the annual base salary range for this position is $70K to 80K. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
