Position Description and Responsibilities
T&A Industrial Distributors is seeking an Outside Sales/Account Management professional with proven experience in nurturing existing customer relationships and prospecting for new customers. You would be responsible for 6 counties in and around the Fox Valley territory .
- Drives sales results by actively engaging customers, identifying, researching, pursuing, and closing business opportunities.
- Retains customer base by continually delivering value-added products and services with a superior customer experience.
- Presents solutions to address customer needs and upsells companies preferred vendor products.
- Generates business opportunities through face to face, virtual, and phone sales calls to assess application and product needs, while also providing product training, demonstrations, trials and cost saving activities.
- Creates and implements account penetration strategies including regular business reviews, product trials and demonstrations, to maximize sales.
- Responsible for implementing sales strategies in the territory, including identifying strategic account opportunities, conducting joint sales calls, cultivating relationships, and reporting on opportunities and threats to our business.
- Collaborates with internal teams to ensure operational efficiencies and customer service levels meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Effectively communicate initiatives between multiple contacts within a customer.
- Creates and delivers face-to-face sales presentations to clients that demonstrate expertise and knowledge of the latest products and services.
- Maintains, prepares and submits accurate and timely activity, opportunity, expense and other reports as required by management.
- Responsible for successful implementation of major company programs and initiatives.
Skills
- Strong sales skills with the passion and desire to achieve or exceed sales expectations and goals.
- Experience with cutting tools, abrasives, power tools, hand tools, measuring devices, safety products, janitorial and MRO supplies is preferred.
- Technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude with insight into key markets served, including metal fabrication, power generation, food processing, manufacturing, and government entities.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent listening, presentation and questioning skills.
- Display a strong ability to align planning objectives with a pipeline development process to grow and develop market revenue.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Proficiencies using technology, including smart phones, computers, CRM & ERP experience preferred.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Two to four-year college degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3+ years outside direct sales/service experience preferred.
