We are currently accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
Mechanical Engineer/Designer (Contract basis or full-time hire)
The qualified candidate will possess the following:
· Must be customer focused
· Must be deadline driven
· Must be resourceful and unrelenting
· Must be capable of multi-tasking and have the self-drive to get things done on schedule
· Must be well organized and detail oriented!
· Good communication skills, both verbal and written
· Must have at least 5 years of experience in a design/engineering work environment
· A BSME/Industrial Design degree or higher is preferred
· Must have strong CAD skills - experience with Solidworks is required
· Good concept sketching and rendering skills are a plus
· Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 is a plus.
· Industrial design experience is a plus
In the position you will be responsible for the following:
· Adhering to our design development process
· Reverse engineering of real flight instruments.
· Designing structures to accurately represent the pilot-vehicle interface.
· Creating and maintaining 3D models and assemblies.
· Creating part and assembly documentation packages, as well as work instructions.
· Collaborating in teams to solve unique mechanical/design problems.
· Working with and selecting mechanical components such as solenoids, dampers, and stepper motors.
· Working with and selecting electrical components such as LCDs, LEDs, encoders, switches, and potentiometers.
· Interfacing directly with fabricators and vendors to come up with cutting-edge, cost-effective components.
· Supporting procurement in finding alternate mechanical components.
