POSITION SUMMARY:
The Production Worker rotates through various positions on the bottling line such as de palletizing glass, unloading or transferring full bottles of fermented sparkling wine, stacking cases, label adhesion, and quality/inspection control. This role supports all production line activities and is key to bottling and packaging quality product reflective of the Domaine Carneros brand.
A Production Worker Level II performs all functions of the bottling line operations and leads, coaches, and mentor others during day-to-day activities and seasonal operations, assisting in the successful workflow of the Production Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Level I & II
- Responsible for all daily bottling line tasks from set up to clean up, with frequent rotation through each phase of the bottling line process.
- Rotates through all operations of the bottling line from loading bottles onto conveyor to packing and palletizing finished product.
- Assists Level II Production Workers and warehouse team in the organization of all case and packaging inventory; may assist with inventory counts and documentation.
- Assists with preparation and operations during tirage, harvest & still wine bottlings.
- Perform quality assurance inspection on bottles at different stations during bottling operations.
- Performs intricate hand labeling of bottles as necessary.
- Follows safety process and procedures and acts as ambassadors for the promotion of safe practices in and around the winery.
- May operate a forklift as needed.
- Maintains production area and warehouse in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Keeps loading dock and parking lot clean and free of debris.
- Responsible for adhering to Company's safety and sustainability policies and protocol, acting as ambassadors for the Company's safety and sustainable practices objectives.
- May assist in Cellar activities during Harvest and intermittently throughout the year including wine movements, wine additions, cleaning and sanitizing, pump overs or punch downs and grape sorting.
- May be assigned various other production or cellar department tasks as needed.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work conditions in certain areas of the vineyard, winery, and Visitor Center are cold, wet, slippery and/or noisy. Frequent walking, including over uneven ground and climbing up and down stairs and ladders may be required. Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, bend, lift, twist, kneel, crouch, crawl, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach and stoop as needed, sometimes for extended periods, and to occasionally lift and carry heavy items up to 40 pounds (may be aided). Ability to operate a keyboard, telephone, photocopier, printer, a 10-key and other usual office equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Level I & II
- Minimum 1 year experience in bottling or production line operations, preferably at a winery
- Attention to detail and experience in quality assurance within prior roles
- Flexibility in adjusting priorities and rotating work functions multiple times throughout a shift
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends or holidays during critical and seasonal operational periods
- Ability to multi-task and pivot focus on tasks to align with the priorities of the supervising team
- Ability to work independently under general supervision
