Licensed Pediatric Psychologist: Training and Quality Improvement Location: Administration Relationships: Report To: Director of Training and Innovation Supervisory responsibility: As designated Summary Statement Under direct supervision of the Director of Training and Innovation, the Clinical Supervisor, Subspecialty Pediatrics provides direct clinical services in pediatric subspecialty clinics including mental health assessments and brief intervention. The Clinical Supervisor will also provide supervision to pre- and post-doctoral psychology students, interdisciplinary consultation, interprofessional trainings and didactics relevant to youth mental health including a monthly Pediatric psychology consultation group. The Clinical Supervisor works well under pressure; meets multiple and sometimes competing deadlines and at all times demonstrate ethical and cooperative behavior with staff, clients, visitors and other associated with The Guidance Center and Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital. Regular attendance is an important factor in employee’s job performance in order for The Guidance Center to maintain efficient operations. When employees are absent, schedules and commitments fall behind, and other employees may need to assume added workloads. Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled and on time. Qualifications: Licensed psychologist (Ph.D. or Psy.D) in the State of California. Graduate of APA accredited clinical or counseling psychology doctoral program and APA accredited internship. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a team. Excellent teaching and public communication skills. Excellent communication skills, high level of self-initiative, motivation, independent judgment and organizational abilities. Experience in applied research and knowledge of outcome data. Excellent strategic thinking skills with the ability to operationalize concepts and transform ideas into action. At least two years of experience supervising psychology students (experience can include that accrued during graduate school). Knowledge of and experience in pediatric psychology including evidence-based treatment and assessment methods for children, adolescents, and families with medical and comorbid mental health presentations. Knowledge of professional competencies for health service and pediatric psychology. Knowledgeable of, or possess ability to learn and adhere to prevailing governmental laws and regulations regarding the provision of mental health services, including employee/patient’s rights to confidentiality and limits thereof, including compliance with HIPPA, federal and state laws and the reporting of child abuse/neglect, and related regulations. Knowledgeable of and acts in accordance with Ethical and Professional Standards established by appropriate professional organizations, whether or not the individual is a member of any such organization. Bilingual English-Spanish preferred. Must be able to pass hospital required drug screening, physical exam, and show proof immunization titers Must have a history of at least five years of malpractice and liability insurance coverage in order to obtain hospital privileges
