TFC Consulting, Inc is a small CPA firm located in Rockville, MD. We help the federal government address financial management and compliance challenges.
We are actively seeking individuals who are experienced in Federal government auditing, accounting, and compliance standards. Candidates must be team players who demonstrate excellent communication skills (oral and written) and technical skills. This position requires an active or pending CPA.
Responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):
- Identify and assess the current fraud risk factors for financial reporting.
- Provide recommendations to prevent, detect, and respond to fraud.
- Identify and test key internal controls for operating effectiveness.
- Develop, prepare, and execute test plans to evaluate the operating effectiveness of the internal controls.
- Evaluate processes that need improvement to ensure the accuracy of the financial data and financial reporting.
- Recommend a corrective action plan to address the internal control deficiencies.
- Review current practices for adequacy, suitability, effectiveness, and compliance with federal laws and regulations.
- Update Standard Operating Procedures for future analysis.
REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
- US Citizen
- Certified Public Accountant
- Ability to obtain US Federal government security clearance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related Business Administration (with a major in accounting)
- Experience in: Internal controls and OMB Circular A-123, Enterprise Risk Management, and Federal Grants
- Ability to compile and analyze data, using automated tools such as Microsoft Excel.
