The Staff Accountant is responsible for various accounting tasks, from coding and entering general AP invoices and preparing related month end accruals to compliance reporting and reconciling general ledger accounts. This position is also responsible for assisting with day-to-day administrative and financial responsibilities as well as assisting management and functional areas in achieving goals.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Critical Tasks - Accounting:
AP – Invoice Processing
- Review and verify pre-coded invoices prior to approving for payment. Investigate and address any pricing related issues utilizing all Systems – email (Outlook), BC365, Centreviews, customer portals.
- Receive, review, and manually process assigned warehouse invoices. Manually enter and post approved freight invoices. Billing issues may need to be investigated.
- Review ACH payments for applicable vendors (warehouse/freight) prior to release.
General Ledger
· Assist in month end close process by recording journal entries, reconciling assigned general ledger accounts and preparing supporting documentation/ schedules to support the timely and accurate month end financial reports in accordance with GAAP.
Other Required Tasks - Accounting:
Miscellaneous
- Responsible for providing back up for the other Accounting Team members.
- Respond to inquiries from management regarding financial results, special reporting, and other analyses as they may arise.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Accounting or Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance is preferred. Previous administrative experience helpful. Previous wine industry experience helpful.
Skills:Customer service experience a plus. Strong analytical skills, accurate and reliable. Excellent attention to detail and thoroughness in identifying and resolving problems are extremely important. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects. Able to work as part of a team and communicate with team members/colleagues regularly. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast moving work environment.
Knowledge:Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, database). Basic math and calculator skills. Experience with BC365, Centreviews and/or other business applications helpful.
