Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a variety of healthcare settings
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and symptoms
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement care plans
- Educate patients and their families on healthcare procedures and self-care techniques
- Document patient information, including medical history and treatment plans
- Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures, such as phlebotomy and laboratory work
- Adhere to infection control protocols to ensure patient safety
Skills:
- Pediatrics: Experience working with pediatric patients, understanding their unique needs and providing age-appropriate care
- Triage: Ability to assess patient conditions and prioritize care based on urgency
- Tube feeding: Proficiency in administering nutrition through feeding tubes
- Laboratory: Knowledge of laboratory procedures and ability to collect samples for testing
- Athenahealth: Familiarity with electronic health record systems, specifically Athenahealth
- Medication administration: Competence in administering medications accurately and safely
- Phlebotomy: Skill in drawing blood samples for diagnostic purposes
- Acute care: Experience in providing care for patients with acute medical conditions
- Infection control: Understanding of infection prevention protocols to maintain a safe healthcare environment
