This is a full/part time position at Northwest Hills Pediatrics. Per Diem work is also available to cover Providers.
Job Description: Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner (APRN):
The role of the primary care pediatric nurse practitioner is to provide care to children from birth through age 22 with an in-depth knowledge and experience in pediatric primary health care including well child care and prevention/management of common pediatric acute illnesses and chronic conditions. This care is provided to support optimal health of children within the context of their family, community, and environmental setting.
The APRN role is designed to meet the specialized physiologic and psychological needs of children in the areas of health maintenance and promotion, and assessment and management of disease processes.
At Northwest Hills Pediatrics, job duties include, but are not limited to:
- See patients for well and sick visits as the schedule determines, generally 3-4 patients per hour. This includes taking a verbal history of the chief complaint, reviewing medication and problem lists, past medical and surgical history, performing physical exams, creating and documenting an Assessment and Treatment plan and documentation of this in our electronic medical record in a timely manner.
- Ordering and interpreting common laboratory and diagnostic tests as needed to treat patients; prescribing medications dosed by weight, ordering and giving immunizations, nebulizer treatments, and other in-office medications.
- Assist with telephone triage as needed
- Address “tasks” in the provider bucket: reviewing labs, test results and consult notes and calling patients when appropriate
- Code and bill based on services rendered
- Create management plans for chronic disease management including, but not limited to anxiety, depression, ADHD, constipation, asthma, behavior and sleep problems.
- Maintain all appropriate and required certifications, CPR, and unrestricted license.
COVID-19 considerations:
All employees and patients are required to wear masks in the office. You will be required to see patients potentially ill with COVID. Appropriate PPE will be provided and contagion control measures are in place.
