JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the physicians in the exam rooms for escorting and assisting patients within VeriMED Health Group for setting up and maintaining the exam rooms in a readiness state for patients and for monitoring supplies and equipment.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with a one-hour break
Medical Assistant Job Description:
- Contacting Patients for abnormal test results
- Lupron and Procrit ordering need to be ordered by nurses
- Scheduling appointments AS NEEDED
- Maintain exam rooms and patient restroom clean at all times
- Draw blood, give injections, ear lavage, and clean ulcers as directed by physician.
- Working the back and laboratory section
- Filing Lab reports • Call/ Fax all prescriptions in before you leave.
- Nurses must take triages and give to doctor for recommendations.
- Once a month, check medicine dates on medicine cabinet.
- F/up on Diabetic and Coumadin patients log
- F/up on hospital admissions and discharges
- Nurses need to update blue forms as needed
- Pharmacy claims needs to be updated as necessary
- Maintain proper refrigerator, room, oxygen, sample logs per protocol.
- Ability to perform spirometry, EKG and strong Phlebotomy skills.
- Verify all tasks including actions, labs, documents, telephone encounters, and prescriptions are appropriately addressed and closed within 2 hours. No task should remain open at close of business unless documented and the office manager is informed.
- Knowledge of all HIPPA/OSHA regulations, all medical equipment and maintenance, medical coding and ability to lock encounters.
- Ability to document effectively and efficiently in EMR system.
- Ability to administer prescribed medication per physician’s order in oral or injections form.
- Must be consistent, punctual and reliable attendance.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
