POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Nursing is responsible for directing the operations of the nursing department ensuring that quality care is given to the residents.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organize, Supervise, and Evaluate the Nursing Department.
- Supervise and Evaluate the residents’ care
- Assist with safety assurance for residents and associates.
- Maintain working knowledge of current state and federal regulations which affect resident care and community operation.
- Coordinate the review and revision of the Facility Assessment on an annual basis.
- Participate in periodic surveys by the PA Department of Health and complete required paperwork and plans of correction in a timely manner.
- Monitor resident medical record documentation for adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
- Complete and submit required forms and reports in a timely manner.
- Participate in the development of the annual nursing budget.
- Promote a constructive working relationship between all disciplines.
- Participate in various committees and conferences.
- Promote favorable public relations.
- Exhibit professional nursing and leadership attributes.
- Attend management meetings as requested by the Executive Director.
- Collaborate with Executive Director on projects.
- Know and follow existing lines of communication and authority.
- Assure that resident rights are maintained at all times, reporting suspected deviations to immediate supervisor
