A bit about our role:
We are searching for an Assistant Controller to play a key role in the accuracy and timeliness of our financial records. This is a position that requires the highest level of integrity, attention to detail, drive, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
This position works closely with our Controller in all accounting related activities and with other members of the management team to support financial operations and provide valuable insights to drive business decisions.
What you will be doing:
This well-organized individual will own day-to-day accounting responsibilities as well as producing monthly financial statements and management reports.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update accounting records and files, ensuring accuracy and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Support all aspects of the general ledger
- Complete the month-end and year-end closing process
- Prepare of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Assist with invoicing
- Assist with payroll and HR functions
- Assist with regulatory reporting requirements and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Perform account reconciliations and discrepancy resolutions
- Contribute to the development of financial policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Previous experience in an accountant, assistant controller, or similar
- Maintain confidentiality of all employee and financial data
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and banking processes
- Experience with fixed asset management accounting
- Degree in accounting preferred
- Proven track record of handling increasingly complex situations
- Manufacturing industry experience is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
