First Lutheran Preschool is looking to hire a Full Time Preschool Teacher. Teachers are responsible for:
- Setting up, managing, and maintaining an appropriate classroom environment for young children between the ages of 2-5 years.
- Maintaining direct supervision of the children at all times.
- Communicating with parents and treating others with dignity and respect.
- Working together with the other staff members in curriculum planning.
- Preparing class activities in advance, based on the preschool's philosophies.
- Maintaining order and cleanliness of the classroom and reporting any hazards and/or needed repairs to the Director in writing.
- Assisting in day-to-day maintenance and housekeeping of the facility, structures and play stations.
- Being aware of and complying with all personnel, administrative and operational policies.
- Attending all staff meetings and mandatory Preschool functions.
- Attending conferences, workshops, and other professional growth experiences.
- Participating in public relation events sponsored by the preschool.
MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 6 ECE UNITS AND CURRENTLY ENROLLED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR TEACHER POSITION. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE 12 ECE UNITS. Pay will be based on experience/education.
Teacher Qualifications:
- 12 semester units (or 6 units and currently enrolled) in all the following ECE courses from an accredited college:
- Child Development
- Child, Family and Community
- Teaching in a Diverse Society
- Curriculum
- Children’s Center Teacher permit issued by the State of California
- Good Written and Verbal Communication Skills
- Organization Skills
- Physically Able to Perform Job Duties as Listed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
