We are looking for a driver that can operate a 15-passenger van and transport individual with intellectual disabilities to and from doctor visits, community outings, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect vehicle to ensure that it is in a clean and in operable condition; completes inspection paperwork/checklist; report the need for service or repair; ensures that vehicles are scheduled for routine maintenance as required.
- Pass a background check and drug screen.
- Transports individuals with intellectual disabilities to and from locations.
- Coordinates and plans scheduling and routing to and from medical appointments.
- Routes daily trips in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.
- Resolves scheduling conflicts by staffing with Home Managers and/or referring participants to other community resources.
- Drives vehicle to and from various locations, following a pre-established schedule or an on-call basis; adjusts schedule as required.
- Maintains driver log; if required, lists group home, destination, and other information for each trip.
- Communicates any individual’s welfare to the Home Manager and the Transportation Manager.
- Washes and cleans the interior of the vehicle; fuels the vehicle.
- Participates in in-service training to update skills and learn techniques for dealing with various individuals.
- Communicate and report unusual circumstances to the Transportation Manager.
- Represent Grace Healthcare Services with dignity, integrity, and a spirit of cooperation in all relationships with staff and the public.
Skills:
- High School diploma/GED; AND two (2) years of transportation worker experience.
- Georgia Driver’s License
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Working without close supervision in standard work situations.
- A flexible, pro-active approach to work including the ability to prioritize and re-prioritize.

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
