JOB SUMMARY: The Medical Assistant will be responsible for all of the day-to-day duties of the clinical office . Includes: rooming patients, reviewing medical history and creating a chief complaint, assisting physician in procedures, setup and clean-up of all procedures. Perform sterile and non-sterile precautions and procedures, sterile wraps and care of instruments. Ability to understand and retain knowledge and understanding of dermatological procedures and treatments.
The Medical Assistant must have a professional appearance at all times.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Room patients, review medical history, take vitals, etc.
- Stock and clean rooms.
- Clean instruments, autoclave instruments
- Mix and draw up Lidocaine
- Maintain results log, call patients with results and document in patient chart
- Return phone calls, handle clinical calls, post-op calls, etc.
- Schedule return appointments for patients after their office visits for follow up care.
- Bandage changes and suture removals
- Enter patient data for all procedures and consults
- Send out pathology specimens
- Be able to operate fax machine, copier, and all office equipment
- Monthly autoclave cleaning, weekly spore testing
- Knowledge of electronic medical records, computer skills
- All other tasks assigned
- Administering medication by injection.
- Scribing for the physicians in the patient's EMR
- Dermatology experience not required
- Training/orientation provided
- Salary depending on experience
