Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant Instructor
FLSA: Non-Exempt
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under immediate supervision of the Program Director, the PTA Instructor provides instruction to classes in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program. This includes the delivery of student-centered, hands-on, active instruction in didactic and laboratory courses. The PTA Instructor will participate in academic advising, serve on various committees, participate in professional development, coordinate and/or participate in school based community events and service learning activities; and work collaboratively as a member of the program team in assessment and continuous improvement activities.

The PTA Instructor must have a passion for teaching and assisting their team in developing exceptional educational methodologies.
SAMPLES OF DUTIES:
The information listed below is meant to serve as samples of job duties and responsibilities for positions in this classification. This list is neither inclusive nor exclusive, but indicative of several types of duties performed:
· Prepare lesson plans and teach course load per college/school/department policy and procedures
· Assist with the review, revision and create materials for use in instruction as part of the course load
· Evaluate the performance of students regarding course objectives and makes necessary provisions to meet learning needs
· Maintain student grades in accordance with established policies. Prepare final grads at the end of each semester to update student records and transcripts
· Prepare and maintain classroom and/or lab facilities
· Assist the Program Director with student applicants for admission into the program
· Ensure compliance with all accreditation standards for the program
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant program, or deemed equivalent program
· Earned associate degree as a physical therapist assistant
· Licensed/registered/certified or eligible for licensure/registration/certification in the state where employed
· Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a physical therapist assistant
· Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem solving and counseling skills
· Member of the American Physical Therapy Association
· Able to work independently and coordinate work with colleagues and peers
· Able to travel as needed
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Prior teaching experience in a physical therapist assistant academic program or equivalent coursework
- Earned bachelor degree or enrolled in or desire to pursue undergraduate studies
- Knowledge of education, management, and adult learning theories and principles
- Active in clinical practice; acute care experience preferred
- Active in professional activities at local, state and/or national levels
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Work inside protected from the weather.

· Noise exposure under 65 decibels, roughly that of a normal conversation or a ringing telephone.
· Schedule changes may occur based on business needs.
· May be required to travel to locations other than assigned site.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
