HBCU Research Magazine is currently in need of a Magazine Advertising Sales Representative.
Magazine Advertising Sales Rep Responsibilities:
The Magazine Advertising Sales Representative will sell media space to advertisers and contact potential clients. The Magazine Advertising Sales Representative will sell ads that will be found in our print magazine (HBCU Research Magazine). Meeting sales quotas is often a measure of success in this position.
Traits of successful individuals in this position include strong communication skills, initiative, organizational skills and self-confidence.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma / GED required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (some course work in marketing, advertising, or communication)
- 2+ years’ direct or inside sales experience preferred
- 4+ years’ retail experience a plus
- A proven record of success in sales will often negate formal educational requirements
- Ability to translate complicated technical jargon for the average consumer
- Willingness to work from alternate store locations when needed
- Ability to multitask and switch focus quickly
- Proficient with common computer programs, including Microsoft Office
