Job Overview:
This position will be responsible for being the point of contact for suppliers, and internal customers, working to ensure the ordering, tracking and inventory of critical spares and parts to support machine availability. The Parts Inventory Coordinator will own, maintain, administer a complete parts and service program.
Responsibilities of the Position
- Manage Maintenance, Repair & Other (MRO) materials, to support planned PM’s, breakdowns and repairs including sourcing, procuring, receiving, stocking and inventory management of maintenance parts and supplies to ensure optimized inventory levels and minimized costs.
- Manages and understands component lead-times and suggests and sources alternatives parts when specified components are not available in order to prevent unplanned downtime.
- Maintain effective inventory control program, including setting minimum / maximum order quantities, based on order history and delivery lead time.
- Perform annual inventory, monthly cycle counts.
- Expedite incoming materials shipments (when necessary) and communicate closely with individuals awaiting receipts to prevent interference to plant operations.
- Coordinate prompt handling of receiving documents and invoices to ensure approval and payment to maximize buying discounts.
- Update storeroom locations on a continuous basis by re-shelving, rearranging and consolidating stock. Appropriately disposition obsolete items (sell, silent auction, trash, recycle) and review minimum and economic order quantity levels routinely.
- Maintain standards of materials purchased to ensure high quality specifications are met. Continuously seek out new vendors who can better serve the company through lower cost, higher quality and improved response.
- Process all receiving reports, returned goods, purchase orders in a timely fashion to prevent disruption to plant and accounting operations.
- Locating, sourcing, expediting repair parts and recommending satisfactory substitutes for unavailable materials and services.
- Ability to communicate effectively with on-site team members and contractors / vendors.
- Performs other related assignments and duties as required and assigned.
- Reconcile variances between purchase orders and invoices.
Qualifications
- Ability to negotiate optimum pricing, terms, and timely procurement of MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) parts, services, consumables and supplies.
- Familiarity with packaging equipment components and maintenance terminology a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and internal customer focused.
- Sense of urgency in daily tasks.
- Understands role and ability to affect machine availability throughout the facility.

Food Safety Responsibilities
- Attend all food safety training sessions (GMP, SQF, HACCP, Allergen, Food Facility Security, Preventing Foodborne Illness)
- Participate in company GMP walks
- Enforce company rules regarding food safety and monitoring
Physical Requirements
- Operate standard office equipment
- Lift up to 35 pounds, with proper lifting technique.
- Ability to work between an office setting and warehouse environment with temperature range of 55 – 80 degrees.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
