We are looking for a hands-on Fabricator/Machinist for our Upcycling Team. We are looking for technically skilled candidates with good attention to detail for the position. Fabricator/Machinists are responsible for taking pre-existing equipment, ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned and secured and ensuring that safety standards are always met, among other duties. The new equipment will be restored to better than new condition and meet or exceed safety standards. Candidates must be creative thinkers who have strong mechanical aptitude.
Moreover, fabricators will be physically able workers who have good dexterity, color vision and stamina.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reading and understanding product schematics
- Participate in product development meetings
- Verify dimensions and product specifications
- Ensuring that all the required parts for assembly are present
- Disassembling and reassembling equipment
- Ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned, and properly secured (screwed in)
- Ensuring that quality control standards are met
- Maintaining a production schedule
- Testing products for their functionality
- Ability to program CNC machines
- Troubleshooting and stress testing products to minimize problems or failures
- Reporting and detailing product malfunctions
- Adhering to assembly safety standards
- Measuring and marking raw materials needed to manufacture parts
- Setting up equipment required to complete each step of the manufacturing plan
- Operating equipment to carry out each step correctly
- Monitoring the fabrication process and intervening when problems arise
- Inspecting finished parts for flaws and defects
- Maintaining equipment located throughout the machine shop
Requirements and Skills:
- Ability to use/operate some or all of the following equipment:
- Welders Mig/Tig, torches and metal working equipment
- CNC mills, lathes, plasma cutters
- Drill press, hydraulic press
- Hand tools
- Program CNC machines
- Fork Truck operation
- Specialized certification preferred
- Proficiency in working on heavy machinery
- Excellent eyesight and color vision
- Good dexterity
- Attention to detail
- Good organizational skills
- Physical stamina
- Perform other duties assigned from time to time by management
- Required Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
