ABOUT THE COMPANY
At Scout Bio (www.scoutbio.co) our mission is to create innovative medicines for companion animals that are more convenient, effective and safe than those currently available.
We're applying cutting-edge technologies from the world of human medicine to companion animal health (dogs and cats).
Our world-class team of human and animal health biotechnology veterans has an enviable track record of success, and now we're looking for a Protein Research Scientist to join our growing, international team.
Join us and play a key role in bringing gene therapies and cutting-edge therapeutic proteins to veterinary medicine, to improve the quality of life for companion animals and their owners.
Our labs are based in the historic Curtis Building in beautiful Old City, Philadelphia.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This lab-based role will be responsible for the evaluation and development of novel AAV and protein-based therapeutics for companion animals. In particular, there will be a focus on the development, optimization and execution of purification processes for candidate therapeutic proteins. In addition, this role includes some lab operation responsibilities.
This role will have a close working relationship with the scientific and manufacturing teams at the company.
Key duties
- Develop small to medium-scale purification protocols for early-stage therapeutic candidates (monoclonal antibodies, antibody-like proteins and other proteins) for candidate characterization and in vivo studies.
- Design and perform pilot formulation and stability studies.
- Contribute to analytical characterization of protein candidates.
- Work closely with the manufacturing team to support GMP process development and process characterization studies for lead clinical candidates.
- Prepare experimental protocols, scientific reports, and SOPs as required.
- Participate and present data at lab and project team meetings.
- Assist in the organization and maintenance of lab operations.
This role will have a close working relationship with all other scientific staff at the company.
