Kingswood Oxford School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Varsity Girls Volleyball Head Coach to lead and inspire our student-athletes. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall organization, coaching, and development of the volleyball program, aligning with the mission statement and core values of Kingswood Oxford School. This individual will play a key role in fostering academic success, character development, and community involvement among our student-athletes.
Responsibilities:
Direct Coaching Responsibilities:
- Program organization, practice planning, and game preparation/management.
Overall student-athlete development, adhering to the school's mission statement and core values.
- Supporting KO Commitment to Student-Athletes:
- Prioritize student academic success, character development, social-emotional learning, and community involvement.
- Recruitment and Retention:
- Work with the Admissions Department and Director of Athletics to recruit and retain highly skilled, mission-appropriate student-athletes.
NCAA Recruitment Process:
- Collaborate with the College Advising Office to provide guidance to student-athletes engaged in the NCAA recruitment process.
Program Cohesion:
- Foster program cohesion for grades 6-12 across Varsity, JV, and Middle School teams.
Environment Creation:
- Create a competitive, fun, and positive environment for all student-athletes.
Administrative Tasks:
- Continuous communication with the athletic department.
- Prepare and update team rosters.
- Oversee individual and team stats.
- Provide game wrap-ups to media outlets and the KO website.
- Utilize game filming with Hudl.
- Attend league and conference meetings for Founders League and NEPSAC.
- Provide end-of-season collection of information, uniforms, award winners, and season review.
Preferred Experience:
- Proven experience in coaching volleyball at the high school level or equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
